- US Airways names Bozin to top safety position

- US Airways today named William G. Bozin as its vice president - safety
- and regulatory compliance. In his new position, Bozin will be in charge of
- all US Airways safety programs as well as its relationship with U.S.
- government agencies on safety issues.

- Bozin comes to US Airways from the Air Transport Association, where he
- has been senior director, safety, since October 1996, in charge of
- coordinating between the nation's airlines and government agencies and other
- organizations to develop policies and programs to enhance commercial
- aviation safety.

- Prior to joining the Air Transport Association, Bozin was a U.S. Navy
- pilot for more than 20 years, serving in a variety of safety, operations,
- training and command positions. He also is a check airman and instructor
- pilot with an airline transport pilot rating. As a trained safety
- investigator, he helped organize the Navy's first aviation squadron Safety
- Department and established the Navy's first fixed-wing crew resource
- management training program.

- Bozin, 51, holds a bachelor's of science degree in Aerospace Engineering
- from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., and a master's of
- science degree in Financial Management from the Naval Postgraduate School in
- Monterey, Calif.

- Pittsburgh.
