Ollie North '68 & Roy Golez '70 met in Manila and were together in visiting the Corregidor War Memorial, called the Rock where Filipino and American soldiers resisted for several months of air, sea and land attacks by superior Japanese forces. Ollie is in the Philippines to do a story on World War Two battles in the Philippines as part of his Fox News War Stories Series. Ollie and Roy were brigade boxing buddies. Ollie was the Second Battalion Boxing Team Manager when Roy debuted as a boxer, and both became brigade boxing champions the same night in March 1967. Ollie remembered Roy as the first one to win four years in a row in the 150 year history of Academy boxing. Roy notes that Ollie remains very popular as many during the Cooregidor tour recognized him and asked for autographs and had their pictures taken with him.
