A Call to those in America whom are Capable of Saving America and the Constitution Certainly it is clear to many God-fearing Americans who love their country, at this point in our nation’s history, that our current elected national politicians have proven that they are incapable of saving America from the internal rot, which is destroying America from within, that they themselves are either directly responsible for, or at the least, complacent in allowing to occur. The central problem with our current elected politicians is that their greatest concern is clearly their retention of personal and corporate Washington-based power that was never envisioned, nor intended, by our nation’s founders which is the primary reason that they are driven by the re-election demands that they have placed upon themselves. Today America needs authentic citizen legislators to replace our current career Washington politicians. Men and women of honor and integrity, who are willing to serve their country as true citizen legislators -- not the current phony career politicians who make claims of being a citizen legislator -- are the leaders America needs serving in Congress, as quickly as they can be elected. Only true citizen legislators will have the ability to pry the stranglehold grip on power centered in Washington from the current career politicians and return it to the citizens of America, where our nation’s founders initially intended it to reside. America needs men and women who know what it means to sacrifice for their country and to serve Her, even with their lives, if necessary. The foundational argument within the press and academia against citizen legislators has been, for years, that citizen legislators in Congress would be ineffective because of their inherent inexperience. This is exactly what our nations founders had in mind – ineffective legislators with limited power. America does not need more laws legislated – She needs representatives who will first, and always in all decisions and actions, support and defend the Constitution of the United States. It is clear that power that is not in Washington, will reside where the Founders intended it to reside -- with the People of America. Where is America to find such men and women that can be trusted to rescue our great country and who are willing to face the challenge of fighting entrenched political interests? How would these patriots achieve the quickest and most effective intervention to save America? There is a group of Americans who know what it means to sacrifice and serve their country – our nation’s veterans. With scant few exceptions, men and women of such caliber, moral fiber, honor and integrity are sadly not found in America’s political structure today. We all know, however, of Americans with such qualities – many of whom have been in the news over the years. Men such as Jeremiah A. Denton who was honored by President Ronald Reagan during his January 26, 1982 State of the Union Address: "We don't have to turn to our history books for heroes. They are all around us. One who sits among you here tonight epitomized that heroism at the end of the longest imprisonment ever inflicted on the men of our armed forces. Who will ever forget that night when we waited for the television to bring us the scene of that first plane landing at Clark Field in the Philippines--bringing our POWs home. The plane door opened and Jeremiah Denton came slowly down the ramp. He caught sight of our flag, saluted, and said, 'God Bless America.' then thanked us for bringing him home." Jeremiah Denton served a single term as a US Senator from Alabama from 1981 to 1987. More recently, Americans found a national pride in both the US Airways pilot who safely landed his plane in New York's Hudson River, Capt. Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger, graduate of the USAF Academy, and the U.S. shipping captain, Captain Richard Phillips, graduate of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, who offered himself as a hostage to avert the capture for ransom of his crew by Somali pirates. Why is it that leaders of this caliber do not come forward, as Admiral Denton did, to serve America in Her hour of greatest need? It is because politics is an expensive, dirty, mud-slinging and self-serving activity that drags everyone involved to his or her lowest level. Presently only 26, of Congress’s 538 members, are veterans. The problem with these 26 members is that they also have become career politicians. Like so many other members of Congress, they came to Washington serve, but ended up finding a career in politics and now their greatest concerns are power and re-election. Today, America needs 100 of her veterans – two from each state in the Union -- to enter the battle to rescue Americans individual freedoms that are in imminent danger of being lost, for all time. Such a loss would dishonor all of our Brothers in Arm’s blood that has been spilled on all of this nation’s battlefields – blood that was willingly shed by for our individual freedoms and for America’s sovereignty. Should America elect these men and women to replace ALL of the current members of the US Senate over the next three election cycles, their impact could save the America envisioned by our nation’s founders. This effort cannot be a third party movement because this approach would only fail by splitting the vote and return the career politicians of both parties to Washington. It is critical that these 100 work within the structure of our current two-party system with the goal of returning both parties to the ideals that America was founded upon. Over the next six years, all for our current US senators will stand for re-election with one third facing the ballot box every two years, beginning in 2010. The effort must be straightforward to ensure that our goal can easily be promulgated to, and understood by, the People of America. Veterans who stand for election to replace current US Senators must be true citizen legislators who are willing to base their campaign upon only five pledges:
Why the Senate? The Senate represents the power seat in Washington that contains the smallest number of career politicians that have amassed the most power and wealth, at the expense of America. A take-over of the Senate by true citizen legislators by the end of the 2012 election cycle (that is, two thirds of the Senate) would effectively end the current career politician power center in the Senate. Control of the Senate would effectively allow the citizen legislators the ability to “veto” all unconstitutional spending, appointments of individuals who do not fully support the Constitution of the United States and the prevention of passage of treaties that run counter the principals within the Constitution. It would be anticipated that once the US Senate is firmly in the hands of men and women of honor and integrity, a dramatic shift back to the Constitution would be irreversible. It would then be expected that the House of Representatives would be the next to fall to the concept of citizen legislators. Once America’s legislative branch of government has been returned to the people of America and the last veteran citizen legislator has returned home, it is hoped that the leadership, by example, provided by our nations veterans will have had a profound impact on the People of America. It is understood, that returning to the Constitution in such a historic fashion and over such a short time-line will have a dramatic impact on America that the press will likely present as devastating. It is difficult to envision, however, that things could be on a worse glide path than they are at present. It should be expected by all patriots who volunteer to engage in this battle, that both the change and the authors of this revolution will be decried in both the print and electronic media. The changes will be described as the most polarizing ever seen in America. Many of our fellow citizens who have a vested interest in the status quo (Latin for the mess we are in), will strongly oppose these changes. Men and women with steel for backbones will be required for this effort – those who are not afraid of making a total commitment to America for the future of their families. We can expect that those citizen legislators in the reconstituted Senate and involved directly in the mission to recommit America to our nation’s founding principals, will come under great pressure to back away from their campaign pledges. It will be critical that, at those times, the men and women who answered the call to serve their country again, receive relentless support from all veterans across America, whether the citizen legislator chose to run on the Democratic or Republican party’s ticket. This email is an initial call for citizen volunteers to come forward and commit to being a key defender of the United States Constitution as part of a Political Phalanx of 100, that will be used to deliver the death blow to the seat of power vested in Washington, thereby returning that power to the states, where our founders intended it to reside. There is also an immediate need for:
There will be a future need for many veteran volunteers to staff each of the 50 state organizations, once the state organizer is identified and the state websites are set up. It will be their responsibility to ensure that the men and women who step forward and volunteer for this mission will not need to personally solicit campaign funds. The effort will need to depend upon word-of-mouth, primarily via the Internet, to be successful – not massive advertising buys. These citizen legislators need to attain office cleanly through a clear grass-roots support effort which will enable each newly elected citizen legislator to go to Washington with the creditability necessary to accomplish their mission and return safely home at the end of their term. What happens after the last group of citizen legislators departs Washington in 2020 will be up to America. These citizen legislators will have turned America over to Her future generations. The hope is that once Americans again have an opportunity to experience true individual freedoms they will not return to our present massive government controlled by career power-centered elite politicians. The final decision at that point will rest with America, as the citizen legislators will have returned home to their families. Volunteers should email their information to: David Storer , USN, Retired at Please forward today to every veteran and local veteran’s organization that you know, for the sake of our country and your families.
