Hi all friends and family --

 

This is a last-minute update before we leave on our adventure.  Most of you are aware that I leave June 7 with Dave and Pat Henneghan to cycle cross country, starting in the Puget Sound area and riding east to Bar Harbor, Maine.  We are cycling unsupported, carrying all of our own gear.  We expect it will take about 2 months averaging about 75 miles a day.  Wil and Pam Shellenberger at Whidbey Island have been gracious enough to offer to host us for several days before we start the trek so we can get our bikes ready and see to last-minute logistic details.  We shipped our bikes this past Thursday and will fly out June 7 to Seattle.

We are riding to raise funds for, and awareness of, fighting cancer through the Livestrong Foundation.  That fundraising website can be accessed through our blog listed above; I would like to encourage everyone to contribute to find a cure!
