I just heard from my church which has become the focal point for disaster relief on Perdido and the nearby Pensacola areas. Many of our members and others of our community are now front line in the relief efforts. The devastation is obvious and now people are finally returning to find they have nothing to return to. Perido Bay United Methodist Church has turned the Community Center, previously the emergency crews' base of operations, into a relief center, serving hot meals and taking in those who need shelter, distributing food, clothing etc. We are on Innerarity Rd and can reach many many in need. We are asking for money. Simply it is the best way for us to make a difference to those in our community who need help. Every dime will go to relieve the needs of the community at large and individuls who come to our doors. Financial resources are our only requirement as the community of people is pitching in with what we do have, time and the desire to help one another. We are asking for money. Right now we need money, it is as simple as that. Please find it in you heart to send assistance along and please feel free to forward this email to your address books or bring this appeal to your church, Sunday School, civic organization, where ever you think appropriate. I trust you will appreciate why I am making an exception and using my email list for this appeal.
