U.S. Military Combat Casualties Need Your Help
Whether you were for, or against the war in Iraq, we are now in it. Daily, brave young men and women are severely injured, serving our country. It’s now our turn to help them through their recovery and rehabilitation.
Many G.I.’s are bedridden and look to music, videos and video games for entertainment to help them pass the time. There are many ways you can help our service men and women in need:
· Music Cds- These young people are fresh out of high school or college and would like alternative, rock, hip hop, punk rock, R n B, and even country discs.
· Dvds- The soldiers and Marines would like current movies that are action, drama, comedies, and even cartoons. Dvds and Cds may be dropped of at Spanish River High School’s Main Office from now until Winter Break.
· Playstation 2 and X Box games- Every young person enjoys all types of games. The service men and women have made special requests for sports games and grand theft auto.
For individual supporters, clubs, churches, synagogues, and public service organizations; Staff Sergeant Word informed me, that Bethesda’s Casualty Unit has only one X Box and one PlayStation 2. He told me his Unit could use several of each gaming system. Donations of $10, $25, $50, $100 or more would be appreciated to purchase an X Box or PlayStation 2. We will negotiate with Best Buy or Brandsmart to buy a larger quantity for a lower cost, as units retail for approximately $200.
Finally, if you just wish to make a contribution to help our troops, I have set up a bank account with Pointe Bank. Make donations payable to “Students for Servicemen” c/o Pointe Bank, 21845 Powerline Road, Boca Raton, FL 33433. 100% of all proceeds raised will directly benefit our rehabilitating troops.
Dependent on how much money is raised, we will support National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland; Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C.; Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas; and if enough funds are raised we will also support to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.
My brother is currently serving our country as a Midshipman at the U.S. Naval Academy and will soon be in the fleet, defending our nation. I ask you to support our wounded G.I.’s as I would ask you to support my brother.
Please help support our troops.
